A delegation of Coats, a leading industrial thread company in the world, paid a courtesy call on BGMEA President Faruque Hassan at BGMEA’s PR office in Gulshan, Dhaka on June 22.
The delegation included Bill Watson, Chief Operations Officer, Asia, Coats, Mohammad Al Kashem, Managing Director, Coats Bangladesh, Zahir Ahsan, Commercial Director, and Md. Rajib Rayhan, Global Accounts Manager, Coats Bangladesh.
They had discussions about the present situation of the global fashion industry including current trends and the directions the industry is heading towards.
BGMEA President Faruque Hassan said Bangladesh’s RMG industry is laying utmost emphasis on product diversification, especially on non-cotton products which are gaining popularity among consumers due to their eco-consciousness and sustainability issues.
As a result, the demand for man-made fibers like functional fabrics and technical textiles is likely to increase in the RMG industry of Bangladesh in the coming days.
They talked about how Coats can collaborate more and strengthen partnerships with their customers in Bangladesh to meet the rising demand by delivering sustainable, innovative, and value-adding products especially non-cotton threads, yarns, and fabrics.
