Exports of Bangladeshi denim garments to the United States increased by $218 million compared to last year. From January to September in 2021, Bangladesh exported denim worth $520 million. From January to September 2022, $738 million worth of denim apparel was exported. According to the Textile and Apparel Office (OTEXA) of the US Department of Commerce, this information has emerged.
According to OTEXA data, the current year’s growth has increased by 42.01 percent compared to last year. In this regard, Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) Director Mohiuddin Rubel said, “We have performed well in the denim sector over the last few years and the US is now our one of the major markets. However, due to the ongoing global economic crisis, our denim export earnings began to decline from October. For this reason, the ongoing growth rate will come down at the end of the year.”
