Desk Report: This is the first export of garment products through Mongla port. Bangladesh has started reaping the benefits of the Padma bridge in garment exports. This is the first time that containers carrying goods from various garment factories of Dhaka have started their journey to Poland via Mongla port through Padma Bridge.
A total of 17 containers carrying RMG products of 27 companies including Dhaka’s Fakir Apparels, Windy Apparels, KC Lingerie, Artistic Design, Knit Concern, Meghna Knit Composite, and Sharmin Apparels Limited arrived at Mongla Port Jetty via Padma Bridge.
These containers were loaded onto Panama flagged MV Maersk Nesna at Jetty No. 8 of the port. Products include children’s wear, jerseys and cardigans, t-shirts, trousers, and other products.
The ship left Mongla Port at 11:30 am on Thursday (July 28) with the cargo. MV Maersk Nesna will sail to Poland with 34 TUS garment products in 17 containers of 40 feet in length.
