The 21st edition of Textech Bangladesh International Expo 2022 started on August 31 at the ICCB in the capital organized by CEMS-Global USA in association with CEMS Bangladesh.
This four-day event, along with two concurrent exhibitions titled the 18th Dhaka International Yarn & Fabric Show 2022-Summer Edition and 40th Dye+Chem Bangladesh 2022 International Expo, have served the entire textile and garments industry of Bangladesh for the last 21 years.
Minister of Textiles and Jute Ministry, Golam Dastagir Gazi, attended the “21st Textech Bangladesh International Expo-2022” inauguration ceremony as a chief guest and said that the current government is working diligently for extensive development in the fields of industry and commerce under the capable leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
“There are plans to create new industrial zones. In order to realize its goal of having a developed economy by 2040, the current administration is making great efforts to expand the garments industry as one of the main economic sectors,” he added.
The work of “Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Shilpa Nagar” is progressing swiftly as a result of this.
“I think “CEMS Global” will bring in both local and foreign direct investment, speed up industrialization, expand product diversity, boost export revenues, and, most importantly, open up chances for earning foreign exchange,” he added.
Faruque Hassan, president of BGMEA, said that this type of exhibition will help increase cooperation between businessmen, buyers, and entrepreneurs in order to increase Bangladesh’s economic capacity and accelerate economic relations.
“It will also help to create new markets in both domestic and international business as well,” he added.
Mohammad Hatem, executive president of the BKMEA, stated that such exhibitions will help to present Bangladesh to the outside world as a new business-friendly country and increase cooperation in the fields of industry and trade.
Dhiraj Raichand Shah, chairman of SRTEPC also attended as a special guest at the exhibition.
The event was presided over by Meherun N Islam, president, and managing director of CEMS Global.
In her speech, she said that they received a lot of support from the business and entrepreneurial communities for this.
She also said that more than 350 companies from 12 countries are participating in this year’s exhibition.
“Also, we are having Indian pavilions from associations and export promotion councils from India, namely ICC, SRTEPC, PDEXCIL, and CHEMEXCIL,” she added.
